Yahoo, the weather is warm. A great way to start the weekend.
However, please be reminded, we do have a dress code at Gig Harbor
High School. Do not wear clothing that reveals the
midriff or back. Shoulders must be covered, no halter tops or spaghetti
straps. Skirts and shorts will not be shorter than mid-thigh.
There is no
entry into the locker room during class time.

Report:
Last night in the
first round of the State Tournament, the Girls Water Polo team defeated
Puyallup 12-9. The victory over the Vikings pushes the team's season record
to 18-2. Aundi Ragan led all scorers with 4 goals. Lauren Biggs and Michelle
Hamilton each added 2 more goals. KC Hughes had 10 steals and goalie Lauren
Lott finished with 8 blocked shots. The Tides face Wilson in their next
game, with the winner advancing to the Championship game. The game will
begin at 6:00pm on Friday night at Rogers H.S. in Puyallup.
Varsity Fastpitch-Please report to the field at 3:00pm today to pick up your
pictures and have a meeting.

Attention all students, the Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU) will be
having their meeting today, May 13 after school in the leadership room to go
over the groups constitution and elect officers for next years TATU club.
Anyone who is interested in joining TATU is encouraged to be present at this
meeting, because your vote counts. TATU will be looking at a very eventful
and fun filled 2008-09 school year and look forward to seeing you all there.
Auditions for the GHHS Jazz Ensemble will take place this week, Monday through Thursday
during Tides. Sign up for an appointment now on the schedule posted
on the band office door (next to the band room). See Ms. Sheng, the band

H2Whoa tryouts will be May 28th thru the 30th
in the main gym from 5:30-7:30. The team is open to grades 9-12, guys and
girls. Application packets are available in the main office. Go H2Whoa!
The environmental club will be holding a drawing on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday for 1 month. Drop bottles with no liquid in them in
the recycling bins with your name written on them. We will be giving away
nice plastic and metal water bottles as a prize. Please recycle. Thanks in
advance from GHECO.

Sports Report:
Special congratulations to Alisha Drumm and Alena Noson who were 2 of the 12
girls from the district golf playoffs to make it to the State Tournament.
Congratulations to the
girls and boys track and field teams for winning the Narrows League Team
titles. The boys were lead by Miles Unterreiner, who won both the 3200
meter and 1600 meter runs. Also winning was Drew Burghardt in the 100
meters. The girls were led by Bree LeRoy, who won the 100 meter hurdles,
the long jump, the high jump, and the triple jump. Amber Williams added a
win in the Pole Vault and Anna Kalbrener set a new school record of 4:55.57
in the 1600 meter run.
